...for there being another longish gap in posts. So, suck it up. That's all we're saying about that.
It's fall. It's gone below zero degrees celcius already here in the 'Wa. The leaves are in relatively full bloom of their beautiful death-knell colour schemes. Gorgeous! No snow yet, though there's been threats.
What did I do to celebrate fall? Why, other than purchasing some fall clothing, as well as some fall skin care (preparing for the evils of Canadian winter), I've been eating myself 500% beyond sustenance during the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend last weekend (For which Mr. P was down and we had Caribbean, Korea BBQ & beer --beer IS almost a meal in itself when it's 2 or more glasses for me, but I digress--, and Japanese in that respective order for the three nights that he was down. After which I went to mum's and had pumpkin pie and stuffed turkey breasts with sweet potatoes and brussle sprouts out the wazoo for a few days). Yes, it has been a food fiesta, and I, a pig at the trough. Note: I am not trying to imply that I spent so much time eating that I couldn't have written an update. I am just providing a rough sketch of how I've been spending some of my time, and it just so happens that for the last week or so, I've been spending a lot of it eating.
Anyhoo, now that I must once again settle down and write the 2nd draft of my thesis, I also, just the other day, purchased 2 CDs to keep my going during the writing process. They are marvelous! I got the new Sloan, a wonderful piece of Canadiana, and I bought the first full length album by the Pipettes.

The Pipettes are a super fab UK group, featuring three young, lovely, and talented girls who sing catchy, retro, heavy on beats and melody, dance tunes. Sounds odd, huh? The sound is certainly unique, though mummy thought that the single I played her, Pull Shapes, sounded "So sixties!". Aside from the arrangements being quite enjoyable and playful, they also have fun lyrics with a distinctive female voice. I love songs like Your kisses are wasted on me and It hurts to see you dance so well. Take for example the song Judy. I am sure that all you girls will be transported back to high school with thoughts of that girl you simultaneously somewhat disliked but also admired. So, I leave you with this:
JUDY by The Pipettes
I knew a girl and her name was Judy
She used to do things I thought were rude
But I never said anything to her face,
'Cuz my friends thought she'd kick my arse all over the place.
Used to think she was kinda cool (kinda cool)
I saw her walking all around the school (around the school)
All the older boys would stop and turn their heads,
All the older girls wished that she was dead.
Judy, whatcha gonna do?
When you're older and no one wants to know ya?
I will look out for you,
If you will look out for me
I know I'm not as hard as you
But I think I can see right through you,
Now me and Judy we're the best of pals (best of pals),
She took me dancing to the early hours (early hours)
And showed me things I've never seen
Mum always asked me where I'd been
when I'm with,
Judy, whatcha gonna do?
When you're older and no one wants to know ya?
I will look out for you,
If you will look out for me
I know I'm not as hard as you
But I think I can see right through you,
When you go,
Home at night,
Are you still looking,
For a fight?
You know you're mum,
Is not that mean,
But still you want to,
Rip out her spleen.
Judy, whatcha gonna do?
When you're older and no one wants to know ya?
I will look out for you,
If you will look out for me
I know I'm not as hard as you
But I think I can see right through you,
ooooh
ooooh
What's in your head?
