New Year, Old Me

Hi everyone. Welcome to the new year. I made no new years resolutions. But, I did do something I've never done before. I went to a hockey game on the 7th of January! In a most unCanadian fashion I had never been to one - until now. Thanks to Yosh, I went, and thanks to the experienced hockey fan duo of Yosh and Michelle, I enjoyed it so much!! I plan to go again (and eat a giant pretzel again, which I believe was my second giant pretzel ever - yummmmmm). It was the Philly Flyers vs. the Ottawa Sens. Sens won - go team go!

Other than that, I am the same. Still finishing the thesis, still living in Ottawa (the Glebe now, and man, it's chilly now). I am not a Historical Researcher any more though, as I started a new job in December as a Litigation Analyst with Indian Residential Schools Resolution Canada. It's neat and I am enjoying climbing the learning curve.

I had a different Xmas than planned as I got sick from antibiotics given me for a sinus infection. No Toronto, just staying in the smaller city of 'Wa. That said, I had a wonderful time, and I did just as much shopping here on Boxing day, as I would have had I been fully recovered and in Toronto. Woohoo!

I've been meaning to post stuff about the new house, etc., but it didn't happen, and maybe it won't, but I will be endeavouring to post more regularly (now that moving and the new job transition have come and gone - phew!).

That's all for now. I wish you all a Happy New year!
k
