So Saturday was my dancing debut - very exciting! It was just a little show for friends and family, so they could see what we spend our time doing at the studio. It was very fun, and I think it reinforced that the studio is as close to a family like atmosphere as you can get. The teachers and my fellow students, and the school staff and volunteers, all proved what a nice, talented, bunch of folks they are.
I got to the venue around 1 hour ahead of the dress rehearsals, mainly because I wasn't 100% sure I'd find it with ease. The dress rehearsal had a glitch or two in it. It started late, and I found out that I only had one song in between two of my pieces. I missed making it to the second one during the dress rehearsal, but it was all ironed out by the time the real show began.
All in all I had four pieces I was a part of: Bellydancing, Burlesque, Hip Hop, and more Bellydancing! See some sample pics below. I'm getting a DVD of the entire show so I can see the other performances I missed because of my many numbers!
We ended right on time, and I was lucky enough to have my peeps take me out for a late dinner in the market (gourmet pizza, wine, and gelato as a reward!). It was great.
Yesterday was all Father's Day at the cottage. Nice weather. Perfect for taking a walk, a boat ride, and having BBQ steaks and salad (with Malbec!) for dinner. Wonderful.
Happy longest day of the year everyone!
