I am old(er)

Yes, that's right, as of yesterday all the 365 days before added up to make me magically one year older. Ugh. But, everyone was so kind to me that I am willing to forget about the fact that I went through the usual eating out too much, drinking too much wine, and having too much of a good time (read: late nights). Also because I got presents.

Really, I don't know why we make such a big deal about birthdays. Those that know me best know that everyday should be a day to celebrate my beingness, and I could say "and your's as well"...

Anyways, I am all excited, not at being older (what does 28 get you anyways?), but at going to TO this weekend, and for next month to arrive. In November, I will be going to Montreal to take part in a pseudo seminar on the PhD application process; I will defend my thesis proposal (finally!; I will get to interview folks in TO regarding my thesis (invites are going to mail servers everywhere tomorrow night); and maybe I will attend a homelessness advocacy group meeting in TO. How wonderful is all that?! Things are finally hummin'. YAY!
