Here We Go Again

Another long while between posts. Ack, what's the point in trying to excuse myself?! Whatever.

So here's the news: I am not going to graduate in my spring convocation, but should be done my thesis by May sometime (defended and all). My interviews have been taking for ever to get started, but as of this week, the kick off has been made. I interviewed the amazing Cathy Crowe on Thursday in her office at the Sherbourne Health Centre in TO (Sherbourne donated it to her for use during her time as an Atkinson Fellow - Atkinson Foundation for Social Justice). She was awesome, and a total inspiration to women and people everywhere who fight to make society more caring and inclusive. The next day I interview Councillor Jane Pitfield (City of TO, for those of you not in TO) via phone. She, again, is an amazing person: intelligent, caring, and focused on issues that matter in Toronto. Actually, she is running for Mayor in the next election. You go girl!

Other than that, I finally got an iPod nano that I was promised from Christmas this year. It's awesome. I've been playing with it this weekend as I am waiting for my mum to get out of the Montfort Hospital from what was supposed to be day surgery on her knee on Friday the 10th. Minor complications keep delaying her discharge. Things feel chaotic. I am sooooo not patient. Anyhoo, to distract myself, I have dined with friends (cell phone on table), walked around a bund (cell phone in hand), knit and watched a ton of American TV (mum has satellite in her apartment, where I am waiting for her to come home so I can play nurse).

My iPod is being a pain, as is life. I will get back to you all when I can catch my breadth.
