Okay, so I am almost a week late here - cut me some slack, I've been busy. Actually, I am at work right now, but taking a delightful Sat AM coffee break to write this.
So Thursday the 16th, I flew down to DC to have some good ol' times. And, I did. I got to see some swell folks, and see a bit more of DC than I did in Sept/Oct. While I did manage to see some of DC, I still don't feel I have much of a grip on it. I stayed around Crystal City, and spent some time in Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, and the southern Mall area. Yes, I saw the White House - eeeek! - and the phallus, I mean, the Washington Monument - eeek! x 2 - and some other monuments. I also saw the monsters World Bank and IMF! See the evil:

I am planning to go back in April. Hopefully it will be prettier, as it was a bit drab (outside, and sorta inside - Washingtonians so don't dress like they should with all their bucks and power; people on the streets and in coffee shops and restaurants all seemed quite ho-hum personality-wise too - maybe it was a bad weekend for them). I did thoroughly enjoy Kaz Sushi, which proved that even if the folks in DC are a bit yawn inducing, their food isn't! I highly recommend going there, if you are (ever) in DC.
You will also all be shocked to learn that I did not shop. Really! I saw some cute stores in Georgetown, but thought (at the time) I'd spare my companion, and maybe we'd get back another day when I could have my fun (which then didn't come to pass). I swear, all I bought were some baked goods from a Korean bakery out in Annandale. On another note, my mum is better and I am back at my apartment! Yahoo!! I had my interview for the JET program on Wednesday AM and it went well (I think). I won't hear about Japan until early-mid April, so I'm putting it out of mind for now, and working a fair bit of overtime at work so as to meet some deadlines and clear away my plate for school stuff in April and May.
That's it for now. Sayonara!
