Finally, I have started to hear from people regarding interviews for my thesis! I was beginning to panic a wee bit there. I am going to TO on Monday for a City of TO Advisory Committee meeting - time to network!!
Not much new since the last post. I am planning a trip to Washington DC in mid February (but all of you who I will see there know that already). I got my e-ticket in the mail so it's all systems go. What else? Japanese class finished, and I will not have enough time in my schedule for the next few months to take more. Boohoo!
I have spent the past week working at work and school stuff. Did a bit of cooking - see the duk boki below. It's one of my fav Korean dishes. Why a fav? Well, it has one of my fav flavour combos: sweet and spicy, and it has duk (rice cake) in it (along with cabbage, carrot, onions, and fishcake). Yummy!

I went out to the Empire Grill last night for a birthday and goodbye-and-enjoy-your-trip (to India) dinner for my friend Kathleen from work. "Twas fun, though I am not a fan of the EG as I feel it is like a trendy place dressed up to be high class, but simply is not. The staff, atmosphere, service, and general food quality was higher medium end, but the prices were low higher end (main course of wild atlantic tuna 28$, but hardly served 'rare' as quoted in the menu; they forgot to give my glass of pre-ordered wine for dinner until I prompted them, and the wine list was positively banal). Too silly an establishment, really. They only get away with it because of the location - after all almost anything hip looking will fly in the Market.
So, that's my life in the nutshell that is Ottawa.
