Back to Life

So last week I was in DC visiting P, and seeing lots of different friends. I even went to a wedding. But, before any wedding could occur some lingerie shopping needed to. I had researched places and decided to take my friend to a place called The Full Cup in Old Town Alexandria. It 'twas fun. She brought her chicken - I mean, her plastic(?) chicken named Edward.

Later that day we met another friend (oh, the one getting married) in Georgetown and had lunch and did some girly shopping, etc. This was also mucho fun, in part (surely?!) because we ended the day with a stop at Georgetown Cupcake, a cupcakery I had mentioned in an earlier post. We ordered 5 varieties of cupcake to try. They were by and large delish. It was around 330pm when we went and while it was calm when we entered the store within minutes there was a line-up out the door. Crazy! Where ever we went around the Georgetown-Foggy Bottom area with the signature hot pink box everyone seemed to know we'd gone to GT Cupcake and kept asking what flavours we bought.

So what did we get? Chocolate Hazelnut, Lemon Blossom, and Red Velvet.

What else? Chocolate Hazelnut, Chocolate & Vanilla, and Chocolate to the power of 3. The icings were mainly cream cheese (of which I am not too big a fan - it's so dense and sweet), and a very smooth dark chocolate ganache. My fav was the Chocolate Hazelnut cupcake, though other folks favoured the Chocolate and Vanilla cupcake and the Red Velvet one. Hmmm, I do believe more visits are in order.

There's lots that we did while I was down in DC country, but I will save more for future blogs.

Happy sunny spring days.
