Me Like-y

So, this weekend has been a total bust on the getting anything important done scale. At the same time I did do all my chores, and go to work, and do both personal and gift-oriented shopping (in the rain and snow even!), so I guess I am not feeling too guilty. This entry is like a stupid blab-fest, so if you were looking for something insightful beat it 'til next time - hugs!

I had decided that it was time to bite a 2 year long bullet and buy a rain proof hiking/running jacket (soon to be two 2 year long bullets when I buy the best runner's baseball cap I can find for my oddly shaped head - a Daybreak Nike Women's Running Cap - I just had to check colour options beyond the near fluorescent royal blue and black I found today). I scrounged around MEC, The Expedition Shop, and Bushtaka for a couple hours this afternoon, and decided to purchase the pretty number below mainly because of the price combined with the look and feel. It's not as gale-force-storm-waterproof as I first planned to get, but it was less that half the price of the crazy waterproofed ones I could find - and it fit better than most of them too! I figured until I decide to completely adopt my full throttle ex-granola punk persona this one should do just fine.

Did I mention it's cute?

Anyhoo, speaking of cute things this spring, I do believe the next movie I will try to see is Mr. Magorium's Magic Emporium by the writer of Stranger Than Fiction. I loved STF, and I keep seeing movie channel commercials for MMME with Natalie Portman and Dustin Hoffman. It's aimed at pretty young kids (i.e. the pre pre-teen market), and some folks clearly hold its gentle nature against it, but I think it looks sweet and whimsical and fun. So, it's gone to the top of the home rentals list. Maybe I have a thing for kids movies these days because I really wanted to see The Golden Compass when it came out (and I didn't. For shame!).

When it comes to going-to-the-theater movies, I am most MOST looking forward to the arrival of both Ironman and Sex and the City in May. Woohoo! Ah, May.

Cute Jacket. I am trying to picture you in pink though.

What about Indiana Jones? Coming out in May!
