2 Weeks 2 Go

Yesssss! Less than two weeks of work to go before a wonderful winter break! Woohoo! So stoked am I.

Not much new in the past week. Thesis-wise, I have hardly heard anything from my interview request letters, but I am scheduled to attend the Advisory Committee on Homeless and Socially Isolated Persons in Toronto next week. That should be cool. Maybe I'll do some holiday shoppin' while I am there.

It has been snowing off and on, and now it's too cold for the snow to melt much. I do believe that all people returning to Ottawa will have a nice white Christmas, and if the temp dips down next week as it's supposed to, you might be able to skate outdoors - maybe even on the canal. Fun!

I won more prizes in Japanese class last Sat. Food prizes to be exact. I gave the chips away, but kept the cookies for myself. Yummy choco-biscuits from Japan! That's about as exciting as life gets these days.

Oh, and as I was walking to Japanese class, I walked passed the rather odd local pharmacy and saw this. It's like a jail for plushies. There are more plushies higher up in the window, and around the corner, hanging from the white bars. This must be were the lost toys are now sent to - a somewhat snooty neighborhood in which only the lonely elderly folks from one of the old age homes would "stoop" low enough to buy the pharma-plushies freedom. So sad! I wonder if children ever cry while walking past?
