Watch out for falling fluff!

Egads! It is scarily winter out. Nice winter though. White, but pretty warm. Friday was crazy snow storm day. It started on Thursday evening and kept up for most of the day Friday. It was super intense in the morning. Look! Fridays I stay home to work on my thesis (usually), and I was glad to do so. When I went to the cafe around 8 AM to read, I had no sidewalks to use. I usually walk to work, and this would be probably the suckiest of the suckiest weather for me on a normal day. As it was just a 10 minute walk to the local 2nd Cup, it was simply a bit unpleasant, and I almost got sideswiped by a car that slid around a corner (forget that crazy turning business, it requires tire traction). Ah, the dangers of Canadian winters! I found out that a local plow operator is a big singing dude. He plows the street (and occasional laneway if he sees someone struggling to do so with a meager shovel) with his windows rolled down, singing pretty darn loudly. Very interesting neighborhood this is. I fell asleep that night to the sound of snow shovelling that night.

I am all shopped out for Xmas (with the empty pockets to show for it!), but I feel happy. I even have all my gifts wrapped! And, I also managed to watch the first TV Christmas movie of this year: The Sound of Music. "How do you solve a problem like Maria?" - it makes me crazy! I was singing all night long!! Anyways, I made my infamous christmas truffles while watching the film, so it wasn't a total waste of time.

Another week down, 1 to go. Woohoo! Happy ho ho ho-ing.
