It's Summertime

Look outside - I know that you'll
Recognize it's summertime
-Flaming Lips, It's Summertime

Yes, it's officially getting to the height of summertime. Next weekend I will be in DC enjoying the height of summertime heat, by the look of the weather forecast. Woohoo! To enjoy the heat, I bought a sweet bathing suit, er, I mean, bikini (yikes! but it looks way better than the average suit on me. No, really!). I can't wait to take a dip in a mid size portion of liquid, preferable of the H2O variety. That said, while waiting for the right moment to enter said refreshing, rejuvenating liquid bliss, I am also hellbent on hiking. For some reason (um, I'm thinking the hot, sticky, stinkin' weather here) by the end of July, and for a fair portion of August, people stay away from a lot of the hiking trails. So, bugs, heat, etc., aside, it's a great time to go.

I am due to hike in and around Washington as the last time we got rained out by the crazy weather. However, in preparation I have been getting to Gatineau Park when I can. Like this morning. So fun. Look at the fun, and be inspired.

So to summarize:

It's summertime - and I can understand if you
Still feel - sad -
It's summertime and though it's hard to see its true
possibilities -

Possibilities like hiking! Go forth and hike y'all!
